VICTORIA ARLEN

ESPN HOST, GOLD MEDALIST, SPEAKER & AUTHOR

Victoria’s life drastically changed at age 11 when she developed two rare conditions, transverse myelitis and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, losing her ability to speak, eat, walk, or move. She spent four years in a vegetative state, unable to move or communicate. Doctors believed there was little hope of survival.

Victoria’s motto, “Face It, Embrace It, Defy It, Conquer It,” embodies how she approaches life’s formidable challenges. She made a remarkable recovery and became an accomplished motivational speaker, television host, philanthropist, writer, and swimmer – winning three Silver medals and a Gold at the 2012 Paralympic Games. She joined ESPN as a sportscaster in 2015 and reports and hosts across all platforms, including Sportscenter, First Take, NFL Live, This Just In, X Games, College Football Live, Sportscenter on Snapchat, Frozen Four, Sportscenter Global, College Gameday All Access, and Special Olympics. After spending a decade in a wheelchair, Victoria defied the odds again in 2017 by learning how to walk and was even a contestant in Season 25 of Dancing with the Stars.

Victoria is the founder and co-chair of Victoria’s Victory Foundation, a nonprofit that assists people with mobility challenges and has given nearly a million dollars in scholarship funds.
