HAROLD GREEN II

ATHLETE

My Beginning and Jouney of Accomplishments

Harold Green II was born in Fairfield, California due to his father's (20) years of service in the United States Air Force. Harold and his family resided in two different countries and several U.S. cities. The family finally settled down for his father's retirement back home in the lowcountry area of South Carolina. Harold began playing "Pop Warner" football at the age of 9 and continued his football career at Stratford High School. After being highly recruited in high school, the Prep All American chose the University of South Carolina and Williams-Brice Stadium to showcase his talents on the field and in the classroom. He had an outstanding career at South Carolina, as he rushed for 3,005 yards on 702 carries and scored 33 touchdowns. Harold had a constant focus through his academic studies making him an exceptional student-athlete, maintaining a 3.0 GPA and graduating in 4 years to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Retail Management. In 1990, Harold began his NFL career as the 31st pick in the NFL draft for the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent the next 6 years of his career with the Bengals and was selected to the 1993 Pro Bowl in Hawaii. He continued his career in 1996 playing with the St. Louis Rams and the next 3 years playing with the 1998 NFC Champions Atlanta Falcons. The footbal field, however, was not Harold's only stage. He stands out among his peers in the community as well. He established the "Green Team Foundation" in 1993 to provide underprivileged children with an enrichment experience, and the opportunity for higher education. His primary goal is to raise monies through charitable events to provide scholarships for high school seniors who are unable to obtain academic or athletic scholarships but wish to continue their education in college.
