DAVID LEISURE

ACTOR

David is best known for his portrayal of the lying, smarmy car salesman “JOE ISUZU”. This amazingly successful commercial campaign rocketed David’s face and persona into America’s homes. He became “overnight” one of the most recognizable characters on American television. Then original campaign, which ran between 1986 and 1989, was recently revived in 2000 and was much heralded in the return of “JOE ISUZU”. David followed his commercial success with a seven year run on NBC’s family sitcom, “EMPTY NEST”. He shared the stage with Kristy McNichol, Dinah Manof, Park Overall, and the show’s star, Emmy winner Richard Mulligan. David played the obnoxious, mooching neighbor, Charlie Dietz. And, yes, David takes great pride in be able to stretch his acting talents from lying and smarmy to obnoxious and mooching. Leisure has guest starred on numerous television series such as “General Hospital”, “Diagnosis Murder”, Touched By An Angel”, “Sabrina The Teenage Witch”, “Caroline In The City”, “Honey I Shrunk The Kids”, The Wayon’s Brothers”, “The Brothers Garcia”, “The Parent Hood”, and “For Your Love”. He has had roles in the movies “Airplane”, “Ten Things I Hate About You”, “The Brady Bunch Movie”, and a whole lot of really bad ones too!
